Nestle Globe, IBM Kolkata,
India
The
project is about designing market specific Extraction, Transformation and Loading (ETL) processes within the GLOBE Data
Conversion project. The ETL architecture consists of three layers, UNIX, DB2 RDBMS and Informatica. Nestle has markets in
almost all countries around the globe, and each country is referred to being a different market.
Briefly different stages of the work include firstly the development of extraction and cleansing routines by markets, based
upon data within their legacy environments. Secondly mapping of legacy structures to the Globe standard targets defined by
central ETL. (Central ETL applies Globe business rules, data validations and duplicate checks to the target to enforce Globe
standards). In the third stage the cleansed data for each market will be compared against concurrent markets and the SAP to
remove duplicates between the markets. Finally cleansed data will be loaded into the dual SAP system, specifically, the MDR
Database and the mySAP.com Database.
In the first phase development was done on central ETL (i.e. Globe business rules and data validations since all the markets
would be using it) and in subsequent phases development would be done on market specific logic
Worked on Informatica to develop the central ETL business rules and
validation logic. Informatica uses folders to separate business rules for a group of related source and target tables and
this logic is implemented through Mappings. Worked with the team of 40 people and was responsible for development and testing
of two folders both for Global and Market objects

B2B Portal for Tata Tubes & Tata Bearings,
Kolkata, India
Currently
working on this B2B model. The work is divided into two phases. In
the first phase online stores would be created for both Tubes and
Bearings and through this store the distributors and OEM’s for
both the above TATA divisions would be able to place their order
indents online, track their order status, check statements of
accounts etc. In the 2nd phase online stores would be created for
the distributors and they in turn would extend the same
functionality to their retailers.
The
work is challenging considering the complex order process
scenario, catalog navigation, maintenance of open orders and
member groups for different pricing, plus a number of stores would
be created and distributors/retailers can browse only in the shop
to which they belong. All online activities would be integrated
with the existing Avalon ERP in Tubes and Bearings through XML.
- Engaged in system requirement study
- Planning & Designing the Interface and Navigational flow
of the application.
- Mapping the tables and fields of WCS schema with the existing
schema in Avalon
- Development of Search Application, search is based on DB2 Text
Extenders
- Is also responsible for the development of entire order
process for Open Orders, and product searches. Searches were based on DB2 Text Extenders

Web Site Migration, Siemens
Information Systems Ltd, Gurgaon, India A National Assembly of
Wales (UK) Project. The project is of migration of 14 web-sites based on Miva scripting
and Miva database to Java & Oracle. The web sites were deployed into the Solaris
server as it is with no additional functionality or new content. Special care was taken to
move the existing data both content and database so that there is no loss of information.
The work was challenging as it was to be completed within a short span of time. The
project also gave me an experience to work for a CMM level 5 company as all coding and
documentation standards for the same were thoroughly adhered to. .
- Planing about the steps to be undertaken for migration of web sites into the new server.
- Played an active role in the configuration of Web Server and WebSphere Application
Server.
- Change of the existing scripts to Servlets, Beans and JSP's and their deployment to WAS.
- Configuration of certain Perl and CGI scripts to run under new environment.

made under different schemes, sector and regions; performance of sick units; comparison of
sanctions and disbursement under different schemes, sector, regions and industries etc.
All reports are quite elaborate like performance reports, which displayed three years of
data, and were developed by making use of some complex SQL queries.
- Creating indexes after analysing SQL. Programmed database triggers for auto-key

cse-india.com, Calcutta Stock
Exchange, Kolkata, India The web site is built with the
objective to facilitate real time dissemination of information to investors, entrepreneurs
and investment professionals. The beauty of the site is in its online ticker, share price
charts, and index snapshots, scrip details and the touchline, which is conspicuous by its
exclusivity. The challenges of this project were to create a web presence for the Calcutta
Stock Exchange. With state of the art real time application, this site achieved what it
set out to do and more.
- Involved in coding of Share Price Charts, This is the Java Applet that shows the scrip
